INI CET 2026 Postponement Update: The July Session Exam May Be Postponed, Find Out How

INI CET 2026 Postponement Update: The July Session Exam May Be Postponed, Find Out How

Posted on March 25, 2026

There is a possibility that the INI CET 2026 examination may be postponed. Currently, the exam is scheduled for May 17, for the July 2026 session. However, a proposal to change this already announced date could be considered by the concerned authorities (AIIMS Delhi).

Why, exactly, might the INI CET 2026 examination be postponed? A primary reason being discussed is the ongoing conflict in West Asia. According to reports, tensions between Iran and Israel have escalated, leading to disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz. This region is highly important, as it serves as a major route for oil and other essential imports into India and several Asian countries.

If the situation worsens further, there is a possibility of an oil shortage in the country. In such a case, transportation services could be affected, making it difficult to conduct a nationwide examination like INICET. This exam is conducted across multiple centers, and smooth transportation is necessary for both students and administration.

Recently, Prime Minister Modi mentioned in a speech that the country should remain prepared. While the situation may not reach the level of the COVID pandemic, there could still be disruptions in transportation services. Under such conditions, conducting the examination may become challenging.

INI CET 2026 July Session Details

Registration for the exam is expected to start in March 2026, conducted by AIIMS New Delhi for admission to MD/MS/M.Ch/DM/MDS courses.

Exam Date: Sunday, May 17, 2026
Result Date: Saturday, May 23, 2026
Registration: Generally opens in March 2026 (expected to start in late March 2026)
Admit Card Release: Expected in the 2nd week of May 2026
Examination Mode: Online (Computer Based Test)

However, the postponement of the INI CET 2026 examination will depend on how the situation develops. If the conflict between Iran and Israel continues and leads to serious disruptions in oil supply and transportation, then postponement may be considered. On the other hand, if the situation stabilizes through diplomatic efforts and normal supply chains are restored before the exam date, then the INI CET 2026 examination will most likely be conducted as scheduled on May 17, 2026.
